  • Floral and Decor: decor ranges from chair sashes to boutonnieres and bouquets to fairy lights, bamboo canopies, unity candle, and more!
  • Photography and Video: A still photographer can be hired on an hourly basis. Packages range from I Do, including prints and digital images uploaded to a USB drive; Love and Cherish, which includes prints and digital images on a USB drive, as well as an edited video; and Together Forever, which includes prints and digital images on a USB drive and a deluxe edited video. Once you have that locked in, you can start looking into any upgrades, private dinners, and other add-ons!

With the wedding coordinator, you’ll be able to finalize any details shaping the ceremony itself, including the vows, floral and musical arrangements, seating layout, and more. You can also arrange a bonfire rehearsal party, a cocktail reception, and a private post-celebration dinner for you and your guests.

Dinner options range from Montego Bay à la carte, Kingston à la carte, Beautiful Beginnings Buffet, or Royal Palm Buffet. We also have hourly open bar options. Once we have that down, you can exhale.

If you’re someone who tends to be a walk-in at your barber or nail salon, make time to schedule appointments before your arrival countdown begins. The Ginger Lily Spa at Sunset at the Palms provides services from manicures and pedicures to nourishing body wraps, facials, and massages. Our stylists are also here for all your day-of hair and makeup needs!

Wedding Attire and Accessories

Jamaica’s weather is part of its charm, meaning it will be warm, humid, and on occasion rainy. Try looking into fabrics that are lightweight and breathable, and comfortable ceremony shoes that will elevate the day.

Be sure, when packing, to be mindful of the weather as well. Things to remember to keep track of:

  • Keep ceremony garments in protective packaging or a garment bag
  • Accessories
  • Makeup supplies
  • Hair styling supplies
  • Undergarments
  • Veil or hairpiece
  • Jewelry
  • Ceremony shoes
  • Getting ready outfit
  • Steamer or wrinkle spray
  • Wedding rings with their ring boxes.

Legal and Travel Documents

Once the countdown begins, ensure all required paperwork is organized and easy to access. Keep together:

  • Passports
  • Birth certificates,
  • Required Jamaica marriage documents
  • Any divorce documentation
  • Legal name changes, if relevant
  • Copies of flight confirmations
  • Resort details
  • Transportation information
  • Travel insurance, if relevant

Final Week Reminders

Once you’re about a week out, confirm the details instead of overthink them. Reiterate with us your final guest count, the ceremony’s time and location, any wellness appointments, floral and music selections, dinner or reception plans, and airport transfer, if relevant. Keep all documents in your carry-on for easy access. Remember to share itineraries with guests, and that important pieces are packed near the top and easy to find upon arrival.

Wedding Day Must-Haves

When the day has finally arrived, and you’re buzzing with excitement, keep final essentials simple and delegate what you can to your maid of honor and best man, like holding the rings, keepsakes, or creating photo moments throughout the ceremony. Ask them also to do a last check before the ceremony, ensuring everything for the day is easy to access and with the right person. This will help keep things on track and heading to the celebration ahead.

Once you start getting ready, the checklist fades into trees. Here at Sunset at the Palms, that moment could happen with toes in the sand or surrounded by tropical blooms, but the feeling is the same no matter where on the property you go: intimate, calm, and completely yours.

Terms, Conditions, and Other Considerations

Before finalizing your plans, take time to review the package details and any additional requirements with the Sunset at the Palms team. Due to regulations under the Health Act, food prepared outside of the resort will not be allowed on the property, so our coordinator will also keep track of any wedding cake updates for you.

The complimentary We Do Wedding applies to a minimum purchase of seven nights in a one-bedroom suite or a confirmed booking of five Tree Top deluxe rooms for three nights. If these requirements are not met, a payment of $679 will be required 30 days before arrival at the resort. Sunset hour is not available for the we do package.

Wedding ceremonies are also subject to a mandatory $250 processing, government licensing, and administration fee, which is not included in the wedding package price.

Wedding ceremonies must be booked at least 45 days before arrival, or a $200 late fee will apply. Couples should also review what is and is not included in their selected package. For beach or garden ceremonies, couples should confirm how music will be played and whether microphones or speakers are available, as wind, waves, and open-air settings can affect sound.
